QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU
Now that you’re part of the SCOTT DH Factory Team, what are three things you’re most looking forward to with your new squad?
More than anything, I’m excited for a fresh start. The team has been around for a long time and has had a lot of success with different faces. I’m excited for fresh perspectives, my own balance of expectations in a new environment, and a new challenge on the SCOTT Gambler.
How do you like the Gambler so far? What were your first impressions, and is there a standout feature you particularly enjoy?
I haven’t been able to spend too much time on the bike yet, so I’m excited to get to know the platform. Mostly, being back on a six-bar will be really exciting. I really love the testing process, so getting to know the bike will be awesome. The first impression was really impressive. I just really enjoy the process of working on the bike. It gives me a lot of confidence that I can do well based on the work done.
After spending more time on the Gambler, what are your thoughts heading into next season’s races?
After spending all last off-season unable to walk, I have a lot to catch up on. It’s been pretty wide open since I’ve been home, getting everything back up and running. With winter here, my focus is shifting to more time rehabbing my hip and trying to get my fitness and strength back.
How are you spending your off-season this year? What’s the plan and what are your goals?
After spending all last off-season unable to walk, I have a lot to catch up on. It’s been pretty wide open since I’ve been home, getting everything back up and running. With winter here, my focus is shifting to more time rehabbing my hip and trying to get my fitness and strength back.
What are your goals for next season, and how will you approach achieving them?
Just take it step by step. I’ve never received a lot of success from trying to shove the square peg in the round hole. I’m going to try to get my sense of calm back from the rush of rehabbing my injury and just do my best every day to be the best me I can be. Wherever that puts me, I’m going to be happy with it. Just honest work and a lot of enjoyment in the process of finding the best version of myself.
